Now i wasn’t sure why, but after i had divulged that these animals lived in Canada i got some odd looks, now i am not sure if it was the piece of knowledge, or if they didn’t believe me. It did feel as though not many of the people I asked even knew where Canada was.
When i told a friend of mine that Polar bears could be found in Canada, he looked at me with complete bewilderment, as if i didn’t know what i was talking about. I really did actually have to prove it to him by showing him on the Internet that there was such a place in Canada called the Polar Bear Capital of the world. Churchill provides polar bears with a great surrounding and plenty of food for people to eat. Would you believe me if I told you that there are more than fifteen thousand polar bears in north Canada – because there are. And at least 1200 of these Polar bears walk through the town of Churchill in autumn.
Now we come to the cunning weasel, and to be honest for me the main reason these animals are so great is simply because I think there is no other that can be collectively called a Boogle! Weasels can actually be found almost anywhere on the globe. The Weasel is considered by many to be a cunning creature and is found all over Canada, they eat small rodents. Weasels are not vermin, although many people believe they are, they do in actuality help to keep vermin population under control, by eating rats and rabbits.
Now this one I thought would be obvious, but somehow seems to have eluded a whole bunch of people, maybe all my mates just don’t know anything? The Biggy is the Walrus, now when you think that they have measured up to six and a half metres they are a bit bigger than a Polar bear. The most defining feature about the Walrus is its tusks, which are not used for feeding; they are just there for show, and for some defence. They were once in trouble of becoming extinct, but since laws have been introduced to stop their being hunted, their population has recently boomed.
So does any of this make you want to go on Canada holidays, I am off on Vancouver holidays all next year, and will be taking as many pictures of animals and wildlife as possible, Canada tours are my forte!
