Here is what you have to do to get to Isle of Wight from London? You will have to catch a ferry from Portsmouth from Isle of Wight now all you have to do is how you plan to get to Portsmouth. There are different ways you can take to get to Portsmouth one is to catch a coach from Victoria or catch a train from Victoria or you can always drive. If you going to Isle of Wight for sight seeing then I would recommend taking your car.
The easiest way is really driving to Portsmouth because you will be able to take your car inside the ferry and then drive in Isle of Wight, which you will need trust me. From London all you need to do is follow M25 towards Gatwick then after few miles take M3 towards Southampton and after 50 odd miles you will need to take Portsmouth M27 exit. From M27 Portsmouth is only approximately 20 miles away. Then take A3 which will take you to Portsmouth town centre and then you follow signs to Car Ferry. Take that route which will then bring you in a cue of cars where you will be seen by people working in Wight link to park your car and wait for the ferry of your time. You will be put in a cue for the ferry of your time then when the time comes you will be asked to drive inside the ferry and from then its a 40 minutes journey to Isle of Wight. You don’t have to take silversea cruises or royal Caribbean cruises to get there. In total from London to Isle of Wight it will normally take around two and a half hours.
